At Wright Renewables, trust and quality are everything. That’s why we’re proud to be certified by the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) — the gold standard for low-carbon energy installers in the UK.But what is MCS, and why should you care when choosing a renewable energy installer?

What is MCS?

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is a nationally recognised quality assurance scheme supported by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. It certifies products and installers to ensure that solar PV, heat pumps, and other small-scale renewable energy systems meet high standards of performance, safety and consumer protection.

Being MCS certified means that:

  • The products we use (such as solar panels and heat pumps) meet rigorous testing standards.

  • Our installation work is regularly assessed to ensure technical competence and quality.

  • Customers are protected through a robust complaints process and access to consumer codes like HIES and RECC.

Only MCS-certified companies are eligible to install systems that qualify for government incentives or funding schemes — such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) or ECO4.

Why MCS Matters to You

When you’re making a big decision like switching to renewable heating or solar energy, you want to be confident the job will be done right. MCS is your assurance of that.

✔️ Peace of mind – Knowing your installer has been independently assessed.
✔️ Futureproofing – Ensuring your system qualifies for any financial incentives.
✔️ Higher performance – MCS standards ensure your system delivers what’s promised.
✔️ Improved property value – Installations by certified companies like Wright Renewables can enhance your EPC rating and increase resale value.

MCS and Wright Renewables

At Wright Renewables, we don’t just wear the MCS badge — we live by its values. Every solar panel installation, every air source heat pump, and every system repair we carry out meets the standards set by MCS.

“We chose to become MCS-certified because we believe in doing things properly. It’s not about box-ticking — it’s about doing right by our customers and the environment,”
Lee Rolfle, Managing Director

We're proud to be one of the trusted Worksop-based renewable installers serving Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire under the MCS framework.

Being MCS certified also allows us to work with partners like OVO Solar & Heating, where only the most experienced and vetted installers are approved. This reinforces our commitment to high-quality installations, customer care, and renewable energy done properly.
